What an amazing summer it has been with NAMGAR’s GT50 in Traverse City, Michigan. It was a great event put on by the Michigan Rowdies the first chapter of NAMGAR. I was very happy that I could be a part of the planning and celebration of such a memorable GT.
I attended many club rallies and an all-British Car show, the B register annual event. and it’s been nonstop. The hardest part was deciding which MG to drive to each event.
I’m also glad to mention that NAMGAR was pleased to sponsor the Ohio BuckAyes chapter with their GOOF as a regional.
The Ohio BuckAyes GOOF was held in Bellefontaine, Ohio. I was unable to attend due to other commitments, however, Dave Smittle of the Ohio Chapter informed NAMGAR that the weather was beautiful and the turnout was great. The 7th annual BHCR hill climb was held in Zanesfield, Ohio on Corkscrew Hill, and was a huge success. The car show was held downtown with a good showing of MGs. At the awards banquet many MG’s received accolades, including several members of The BuckAyes.
It was refreshing to have sponsored this regional event of NAMGAR.
I am looking forward to next year, when another regional will be sponsored by NAMGAR involving our chapter, The Classic MG Club of Orlando in conjunction with GOF South Florida. The event will be held in April of 2026 in Cape Canaveral, Florida. It looks to be a great time down in sunny Florida. We will have more information on this in the next issue of MGA! magazine.
With Fall finally here, it becomes my favorite season for driving my MG’s. The beautiful colors, the crispness in the air and I’m not sure why but the engine just seems to run better and stronger. I’m glad we have a few more Club rallies before it is time to start winter maintenance on my cars.
Don’t forget GT-51 or the all-MG event will be held in Sandusky, Ohio in August of next year. The planning by the council has commenced and we are already starting to see information showing up on our websites and in this issue of MGA!. They are hoping for registration to begin in the first quarter of 2026. Save the date August 24-27 2026!
