Back Roads January/February 2026
Back Roads
Dean Hickenlooper, Vice Chairman
Winter has arrived a little early here in the Chicago area I’m glad I got all my MGs winterized and prepped for their winters nap. Now the seasonal maintenance begins hopefully to have them ready to go in the spring with no problems. I’m sure you all have a short list or possibly a long one to try and complete before the driving season stars. Don’t delay because this year is looking to be amazing.
As you probably know by now the All-MG Convention is this year in Sandusky, Ohio. I’m so looking forward to going and hope to see you there. The GT50 last year was Great and to have so many MGA’s there made it very memorable. It will be nice seeing you all there in Sandusky to get better acquainted with you. Sandusky is a very picturesque area with great MG roads and sites to see. So don’t delay getting your reservations.
This year we are please to be having several NAMGAR regionals along with the GT51. So far, the GOF South has permitted us to join them as a NAMGAR regional. You can read up on the details about this issue of MGA! Magazine. There are possibilities of other chapters setting up regionals also. I’ll keep you updated as they develop.
Looking forward to the future, like 3 or 4 years, we would like your chapter to consider hosting your very own GT! It’s not as much work as you might think, plus you won’t have to make that long drive. We are here to help with the details when your chapter is ready.
Well now is the time to get to work on your MGA, so get to it! See you in the summer.
Safety Fast – your humble servant, Dean
