Well, as you probably know by now, NAMGAR is having a membership drive. Membership numbers have been steadily declining over the last few years, and we all need to make a little extra effort to encourage friends and club members to sign up and take advantage of the benefits of membership.

Did you know that, as a member of NAMGAR, you can get a substantial discount with Hagerty Insurance? That in itself makes joining worthwhile.

I recently started asking owners of MGAs and Magnettes if they were members. To my surprise, several were not. They said there was no need or advantage to it. Well, after I explained the benefits, they changed their minds and signed up using me as a reference, which earned me six additional months of NAMGAR membership. You, too, can get FREE additional months of membership—this is your incentive to sign up owners or even interested individuals to the Register.

As for the rest of the year, there are plenty of local rallies and car shows to attend, but don’t forget the Southeast British Car Festival and NAMGAR Regional GT hosted by the Peachtree MG Registry in George on September 24-27. See page 3 for the URL where you can sign up. Just in case you didn’t know, NAMGAR had FIVE regionals this year! Also, if your chapter or interest group is thinking of hosting a GT or regional, don’t hesitate to contact me so I can help you put it together: vicechairman@namgar.com.

With the driving season well underway, I hope you’ve all been putting miles on your MGs. I know I have been. By the time you’re reading this, the MG International will have come and gone, and I hope it was an enjoyable event for those who were able to attend.

But now it’s time to set our sights on next year’s GT-52 in French Lick, Indiana. This is stacking up to be an awesome GT, and one you won’t want to miss. So, mark your calendars now for May 17-21, 2027, and register early when it opens. I hope to see you there!
