New MGCC UK Overseas Director

New MGCC UK Overseas DirectorAt the recent Annual General Meeting of the MG Car Club UK, the Overseas Director, Paul Plummer tendered his resignation from that position. Paul has carried out that role for the past six years and he now feels that it is time to step down and let somebody else take the reins.

Paul will remain as Director and member of the board of the MGCC UK and assume individual project responsibilities as they arise. He has very much enjoyed the events run by our affiliated clubs and met many wonderful like-minded enthusiasts, and to all those friends and colleagues around the world he would like this to take this opportunity wish them well, and Safety Fast!

At the same AGM, Peter Cook was elected as a Director of the Club and takes on the Overseas role. Peter has been a member of the club for seven years, has owned a MGBGTV8 for 34 years, and latterly was the Chairman of the Devon and Cornwall Centre. He wrote a two-part article on William Morris, Lord Nuffield which was published in Safety Fast! in the May and June issues, 2013.

Brought up in Oxford Peter’s father worked at what is now the Mini plant. His own lack of enthusiasm for factory work took him off to university where he studied economics. This in turn led to over three decades of teaching in various university Business Schools until recent retirement.

Peter is very committed to building on the already considerable MGCC presence outside of the UK, and where possible to enhance the Club’s services to overseas members. Click here if you wish to contact Peter directly.
