We hope you were able to celebrate Drive Your MGA Day on May 2 by enjoying a favorite stretch of road. Unfortunately, my local chapter, the Rowdies, drew cold temperatures and steady rain, which kept most members home and left only two determined drivers on the road. With any luck, next year our spring parade of Midwest weather fronts will give us a break.
Getting down to business as promised, here are a few more updates from the Board meeting held last February.
Our good friend and longtime Registrar, Mike Jacobsen, informed the Board that he has decided to retire from the position he has faithfully held for the past seven years. Mike has been an invaluable part of NAMGAR and a tremendous help to all of us during his time in the role. While we will certainly miss his dedication and support, we wish Mike and Elaine many safe travels and enjoyable adventures in the years ahead.
The Board also experienced another transition within our team. After assisting with the collection of articles and photographs for the past four issues of MGA!, NAMGAR Archivist Bill Marshall has stepped away from this role. This arrangement was always intended to be temporary as we continued the search for a permanent editor. We sincerely thank Bill for his dedication and support in helping preserve the longstanding tradition of producing our magazine.
Until a new editor is appointed, Dan Suter and I, with support from Membership Chair Rob Kuhn, will continue managing these duties. Of you are interested in helping with the magazine or serving in an editorial role, please contact a Board member. Your support is greatly appreciated and is essential to the continued publication of MGA!.
Turing to MG International 2026, registrations continue to grow steadily. To date, 95 NAMGAR members have registered and will be bringing their MGAs and Magnettes to participate in the various NAMGAR events and classes. In addition, 117 people have already signed up for the MGA banquet dinner, which will be held on Tuesday evening during the event. Total event registration has reached 368 applicants and 395 MGs, with the numbers continuing to rise each day. If you plan on attending, it is recommended that you complete your registration as soon as possible.
Safe travels to those attending GT-51, the all-MG event in Sandusky, Ohio, and to your local chapter events and whatever back road you may find yourself on.
