The MGs of Baltimore, Ltd. Car Club was founded in 1977 by a group of MGB owners who felt that they needed a local car club that was in tune with their cars. The Club has been open to all MGs since the beginning and we now include all British cars. The club logo has now evolved into the Colonial Flag of Maryland (Lord Calvert’s) with the familiar MG Octagon in the lower right-hand corner.

Today our membership stands at 177 and we continue to grow. Our membership is mainly from the metropolitan Baltimore area in Maryland; however we have members from the surrounding states of Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Delaware. We publish our newsletter, The Octagram bi-monthly and it is available on the club website. Club meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month at Pappas Restaurant located at Oakleigh Road & Taylor Avenue starting at 7:30pm.

The MGs of Baltimore, Ltd. Car Club is a proud local Centre of the M.G. Car Club U.K. and 1998 winner of the Nuffield Trophy. We are also a local chapter the M.G. Owners Club U.K, the American MGB Association. In 1993 we joined with the North American MGB Register and finally in 1997 we teamed up with the North American MGA Register.

The club hosts one major event each year. The Annual “MGs On the Rocks” Car Show and Parts Market is held the last Saturday in September at Rocks State Park, 4-H Camp. The park is located near the town of Bel Air, Maryland. In addition, the club sponsors The Annual “Get the Dust Off” Rallye and Gathering on the first Sunday in May. This time, speed and distance rallye is open to all classic sports cars.
