Register Statistics

It’s time to recount the changes in NAMGAR’s membership during 2023.

While we gained 125 members in 2023, our membership has dropped to just over 1700 active members. We continue to learn about new-to-NAMGAR cars with 9,336 cars in the database now. Don’t think you’re an underachiever if you don’t have what looks like an average of five cars per member. Almost half of the cars aren’t registered to anyone, so while we have the chassis number and other information for the cars, we don’t know their whereabouts or owner for them. This comes from a car getting sold and the new owner declines to join NAMGAR, or a car gets parted out and we don’t get told about it.

Here’s how the membership was distributed on January 1, 2024:

While most of our members are in North America, there are some overseas. This year we gained members in Spain and Mexico!

Most cars are one of just five colors, with 81% either red, white, black, blue or green. This includes any sort of red, for example, and not just the factory reds. MGAs are far and away the car we have the most of (8,948), but there are also 276 Magnettes and 27 variants, like Elvas and Devins. There are also a few cars without enough information to include here – we aren’t real sure what model they are.

Now that we’ve gone through all these numbers, please remember to check your NAMGAR membership profile to make sure yours is up-to-date. This includes your mailing and email addresses, accurate information about your car(s), your local club, and everything else. Go to the Member Profile/Login page from the website’s Membership tab, log in, and review your profile. If you need to make changes, use the Update Membership Information button, write up your changes, and click Submit. Easy!

I hope to see you all at GT-49.
