Art Zeisk Recognized by the Texas MG Register

Art Zeisk Recognized by the Texas MG RegisterThe Texas MG Register presented the Renkenberger Spirit Award to Art Ziesk at their annual Spring Meeting on May 13, 2017. Art has been associated with cars and MGs since opening his automotive repair business in 1974.

Art was a member of the Texas MG T register, the precursor of the Texas MG Register since the early ’80s. When the NAMGAR Chapter, Armadillo A’s was founded in 1989, Art was one of the founding members. Art became the Technical Editor in 1990 and has continued in that role to the present.

Art became one of the first members of the TMGR to drive to national meets. Art’s first national was GT-16 in Huntsville, Alabama in 1992. The next year he received the long distance award driving to Niagara Falls. Art also attended many NAMGBR national events and John Twist’s Summer Parties. Art missed very few GTs over the next 20 years. Art was easily recognizable in his maroon MGA Coupe with air conditioning. He was the first person to design and install air conditioning in the MGA!

Although some health issues have kept Art closer to home the last several years, he always attends the Texas spring and fall GOFs, as well as local chapter functions. Art has always been there to lend some technical advice to anyone that would listen.
