I am Bruce Mann, Chairman of NAMGAR, recently appointed by the Board, in Memphis, TN at GT-48. My position officially commenced on January 1, 2024. I previously served on the Board as the Communication, Advertising and Marketing person, and was a staff member for six years, doing only the advertising, growing our sponsorship base, and building alliances over the years.

My wife Wilma Lee (Willie) and I live in White Lake, Michigan, transplanted from West Virginia and Ohio, respectively. Living in Michigan, we are both active members of our local NAMGAR chapter, the Michigan Rowdies. Willie is the Chapter Coordinator, and I take care of the Regalia. We joined the Rowdies some fourteen years ago and in doing so it has become a big part of what we do. We have met many people through the chapter and have become friends over the years.

We also belong to the Ohio BuckAyes, and the New England T Register, and we remain very active in their activities.

We have attended many of the previous NAMGAR GTs beginning with GT-37 in Dayton. We have also attended two GOFs and are planning a third this summer in Newark, Ohio.

Willie and I have been married for seventeen years. I have three children, five grandchildren and two great granddaughters; and Willie has two children. My kids are both in Michigan, as well as Willie’s son, and her daughter lives in West Virginia.

I was born in Bellevue, Ohio and graduated from college in 1966. I have been retired for seventeen years from Magna International, a seat supplier to the automotive industry. Willie grew up in eastern West Virginia and moved away to start a career many years ago. Willie is now retired from the automotive world.

I bought my current 1960 MGA 1600 roadster in July of 1961, when I was seventeen years old and just out of high school. Some of my friends had As and we loved them. With a leap of faith and a good job at Whirlpool, I was able to convince my father to let me buy this car, and I have had it ever since.

We restored it in 2009 through 2012. We then bought a ’52 TD, a ‘62 MGA Mk II and a ‘58 MGA Coupe, and we have since restored them all, with frame off restorations.

We both enjoy our family, grandkids, and now great grandkids, playing golf, traveling, and working on our MGs.

I am looking forward to growing NAMGAR, and assuring it remains a world class register. Any questions or suggestions, let me know at chairman@namgar.com.

See you down the road!
