The Tidewater MG Classics (TMGC) was formed by a group of MG enthusiasts in May of 1973 to promote and preserve the MG sports cars they cherished. Originally organized as a club for MG T-series enthusiasts, the club later opened membership to the owners of all models of MGs. Some of the original founding members are still active members today. The TMGC serves MG owners in the southeastern part of Virginia, commonly known as the “Tidewater” region. The area includes many bases for the U.S. Armed Forces and NATO, including the world’s largest Naval Base in Norfolk. Consequently, some of our members are active duty military and hail from all parts of the country and abroad.

Our club averages just over 100 members, with 25-30 members attending most monthly meetings, held either the first Tuesday or Wednesday evening of the month. Monthly meetings are usually held at a member’s home, and are very informal and relaxed. Additionally, we have weekend event most months – generally a tech session or drive out.
