British Pathé – The Sports Car of the Year (1955)
During World War Two, the British public and their allies relied on news reel coverage of the war’s events by British Pathé News. In 1955, this film company produced a film titled “The Sports Car of the Year”, and the car was the MGA 1500 and MGA twin cam.
This film starts out like a documentary with the ’55 Le Mans race, but becomes a promotional item for the MGA towards the end. It includes the world record breaking car with Stirling Moss at the wheel. It is a wonderful film with some unique footage of the MGA. While it is almost 10 minutes in length, MGA enthusiasts will find it fascinating.
