V. W. Derrington Ltd
We have received the following appeal from Stuart Derrington:
“Dear Sirs
“I wonder if you could put a request in your magazine as I am doing some research on my father, Victor William Derrington of V.W.Derrington Ltd of Kingston, Surrey.
“As you may well know my father had a long-time connection of tuning MGs as well as racing them. He manufactured and sold a lot of tuning and accessories for these cars, as early at least as the M type, XPAG, XPEG and then post war MGA, MGB, Midget and Magnette.
“What I am trying to find out if anyone has early photos, experiences anecdotes anything pertaining that is relative to my father and his firm. Though we closed in 1986 it is quite remarkable the items still being made from his era, like steering wheels, grab handles, aeroscreens, anti-roll bars and the HRG-Derrington crossflow cylinder head amongst other items, which shows great respect for the items he produced.
“Thanking you in anticipation
Yours faithfully
Stuart Derrington”
If anyone has any information that will help Stuart in his quest, please contact him directly.
V.W. Derrington made competition parts for MGs and other cars. For example, the Derrington-H.R.G. crossflow cylinder head, and the Derrington wood rim steering wheel. There is even a door at the Brooklands Museum dedicated to the Derrington name.
Any submissions Stuart receives will be posted on the V.W. Derrington Facebook page.
