MG Car Club Seeks Further Information on Unusual MGA
Howard Quale, the MGA Register Archivist of the MG Car Club, recently purchased an original MGA 1600 BMC brochure, printed by the Nuffield Presss and with an indicated date of August 1959. The publication reference on the front is H.5956.
As all models shown are LHD, it is assumed that this brochure may have been produced specifically for the export market, and in particular for United States customers.
On one of the inside panels are two black-and-white photos of LHD MGAs at race meetings. One of these, sporting the number 86, is shown with three over-riders on the front bumper!
The centre one is inline with the central bar on the radiator grille. This seems a strange choice of image to illustrate a factory brochure, particularly with other more conventional images available.
If you have any information on this car, please email Edward Vandyk of the MGA Register, MG Car Club.

Probably used to push Triumphs out of the way!
