I suppose all you guys want is beautiful pictures of finished cars, but here is yd3/589 in its current state.
YD/3/589 was purchased in the summer of 1975. It had been part of an unsettled estate and sat outside from 1967 until 1972. The body is now in one piece instead of the two pieces it was while mounted on the chassis. Thank heavens I had the sense to leave it on util I had repaired all of the sill area and much of the lower portion of the rear pillars. Most of this work was done last winter and I hope to get back to it soon.

Just coming out of storage in the spring. My uncle, Joe Walmsley, bought this car in 1959 and had it until his passing. He had a 1958 coupe but traded it in for the roadster. It has 80k original miles

Out on the street! Joe Walmsley and his wife Margret, a pencil thin redhead with the striking resemblance to Ann Margret, use to rally this car in Southern California. After a few years of marriage then divorce, Joe married his second wife, Margret, a pencil thin redhead whom he divorced after a few years. At least he keep the MGA!

Car was purchased and restored by the owner in 1996 / 97. Driven almost daily and has more than 25,000 miles logged as of 2006. I have over 100 pictures of the rebuild and would willingly share with anyone who needs help with their project.
My wife and I were married in 1959 and our first purchase was a new 1959 MGA, all black with red interior. We have owned an Austin Healey 3000, and a 1953 MG-TD which we purchased in 1983 and still own. Enjoy the thrill of driving these remarkable cars and remember. KEEP THE TYRES ON THE BOTTOM

Here is a photo of the 1960 MGA 1600 with twin cam engine that I found in a barn in Ohio this summer. It had been sitting there for at least 25 years so it needs alot of TLC and cleaning… If all goes well I will find out if the engine will start and run in a week or two. Any suggestions? If anyone has any information on the history of this car please contact me… It has about 15 event/ registry tags with numbers and dates. Thanks

This is how the car looked when I first saw it. It was covered with 25 or more years of dust, but looked complete including a bunch of mice that had been living in it for a long time. LOL If anyone has any information about the history of this car please contact me. I has about 15 event/ registry tags stuck on the dash and under the hood (bonnet).

This picture was taken in the English Buckinghamshire countryside during the “Tour de Silverstone” 2010. We drove from Switzerland to the UK and back, taking in French restaurants, Burgundy vineyards, the Yorkshire Dales and three days at the MG event in Silverstone. Two weeks of sheer pleasure hood down in continuous sunshine (not bad for the UK!), about a total of 5000 km.

Recently completed home restoration of Trashy. Seven years of fits and starts but she’s finally finished and to a very high standard. Nothing’s missing and nothing’s on the car that shouldn’t be. What could be sweeter?

We’ve owned our Twin Cam Roadster YD3-2249 since June 1978. I registered the car with NAMGAR (#1128) soon after I purchased it. The car did not have the original TC engine in it and I started restoring the car (body off) in 1988 and had it on the road with an 1800 engine by January 1990. In 1992 I found a 1958 push rod coupe (NAMGAR # 4810) w/ a TC engine (16G U 446). I swapped motors and in 1996 I was driving a Twin Cam Roadster with a fresh motor, w/ original CR (Le Mans) transmission & 4.55:1 final gears. Love that Twin Cam. We’ve driven the car around 16,000 miles, 6000 of them with the TC engine and it’s been great fun.

I was heading up my driveway on a beautiful fall day. My habit of not keeping the tank full due to ethanol and a non-working fuel gauge led me to run out of gas on top of this hill. Fortunately we can buy ethanol free gasoline locally today. But then I wouldn’t have taken this picture! Photo taken near Cooperstown, New York
