Register Statistics

Here’s what changed in NAMGAR’s membership as NAMGAR enters its fiftieth year.

While we gained 112 members and 70 cars in 2024, our membership declined slightly to just under 1700 active members. There are 9,437 cars in the database now but only about half of the cars have a known owner. We don’t know the whereabouts or owner for the rest of the cars. This comes from a car getting sold and the new owner declines to join NAMGAR, or a car gets parted out and we don’t get told about it.

Here’s how the membership was distributed on January 1, 2025:

We can’t forget that while the name of the club is the North American MGA Register, we also have members outside of North America.

Again, despite the name, we also have cars that aren’t MGAs. MGAs are far and away the car we have the most of (9,044) and roadsters (8,091) make up most of those, but there are also 280 Magnettes and 26 variants, like Elvas and Devins. There are also a few cars without enough information to include here – we aren’t real sure what model they are. This is one reason why having each car’s chassis number is important. Three-quarters of our cars are either red, white, black, blue or green. Remember that his includes any sort of red, for example, and not just the factory reds.

Now that we’ve gone through all these numbers, it’s time for my annual pitch: Please remember to check your NAMGAR membership profile to make sure it’s up-to-date. This includes your mailing and email addresses, accurate information about your car(s), your local club, and everything else. Go to the Member Profile/Login page from the website’s Membership tab, log in, and review your profile. If you need to make changes, use the Update Membership Information button, write up your changes, and click Submit. Thanks!

I hope to see you all at GT-50.
