Renkenberger Spirit Award Presented to Dave Quinn
The Michigan Chapter have nominated Dave Quinn for the Renkenberger Spirit Award. Dave has been a NAMGAR member for over 35 years. He became a Michigan Chapter member in 1977, the 2nd year of the Chapter’s existence.
During this time he has served the chapter in many different ways. He served as Meets Chairman for one year. He served as our Chapter Newsletter editor for a total of 12 years. And finally he has been elected as our Chapter Chairman for a total of 9 years. Dave has been and continues to be a driving force for all things MGA. He is involved in all aspects of the club including welcoming new members, watching Chapter finances, involvement in Regalia sales, and so on. He and his wife, Donna, have sponsored numerous meets and have been in attendance at the majority of GTs, frequently organizing caravans to chapter meets and to GTs. He has worked on all four GTs put on by the Michigan Chapter making sure everything went smoothly and people were well looked after. He always wanted people to learn about their MGA and to enjoy the GTs as well as Chapter meets occasionally sponsoring a ‘Day In The Garage’ where members could enjoy the comaraderie of other members and learn about their cars. Dave is quite good at remembering people and their details. Throughout this time, he continues to come up with unique ideas for the club. His most recent accomplishment is completing a 40 year history book of the Michigan chapter. The book is over 200 pages and includes history of the early NAMGAR years as well. He spent a good deal of time researching old photos for inclusion in the book. The book has been made available to the club in both written and electronic form.
The club believes that Dave Quinn is an excellent candidate for receipt of the Rengenberer Spirit Award.
Many congratulations to Dave.
